Ships Log 081115-A: One Beautiful Day on the Water South of Sand Island!

Friend's and Customer's,

What a beautiful day it was yesterday in the Gulf South of Dauphin Island!

In fact it was just a little too beautiful yall- I mean it was hot even out on that Gulf of Mexico!

I have a blister on my head to prove it! LOL!

I had some sunscreen but it just wasn't all that great but man did I have fun!

I had Six good hits while trolling out about 3 miles South of Dauphin Island maybe of those six hits were two or three good strikes with a couple of small fish on for a minute or two.

Yes I felt like the old man and the sea since it just wasn't my day to get a fish in the boat but man did I have fun!

I listened to Catt Sirtin on Zoo until he closed the show with Amazing Grace and graceful it was out there on the Gulf.

I have some more pictures but I'm too burnt up to post those today but the main thing was the old Evinrude did me proud.

The other thing that was important to me was getting to Sand Island!

It has been 11 or possibly 12 years since my ex-wife and my two-children had the good fortune to spend the night on the Island much less get too it and see what Katrina had done to change our little Island that is no longer in the Gulf of Mexico detached from Dauphin Island.

I did cross the Sand Island bar to the east of the actual Island for the first time since Katrina and I feel real comfortable now with the not so new arrangement.

After trolling out to the rigs- I ran on back in to the north side of the Island- anchored the boat and jumped in the water myself to cool off a bit!

I'm ready to go again as soon as possible.

I shipped a Racor Fuel Filter to North Carolina last week for example.

If you notice the items out front of the store the fenders well you might be able use them too not to mention the two white bucket seats I took off my boat and the bait well. I even have a Crab Trap and Float out there you might could use!

I have a brand new 52 gallon water tank outside as of Today and a beautiful MAGMA Propane grill I just took in on consignment that is in the store in pristine condition that comes with it's own bag and two different types of mounts- at least one is a rail mount. The Grill even comes with a propane bottle.
