39 years ago Today my Hometown was Devastated by Hurricane Frederic!
Particularly Dauphin Island North to Battleship Parkway including and especially Dauphin Island Parkway and to the best of my memory from our visit to Gulf Shores, Alabama after the storm from Gulf Shores West to Fort Morgan!
Not a piling was left where homes had once been on Fort Morgan Peninsula!
I must have had Home-Builder in my Blood because it was all Awe-Inspiring!
I couldn't decide later in my early 20's if I wanted to be an Oil Man in Construction or a Weatherman!
I had signed up for a class on drafting before I quit school and eventually was invited to join the Navy.
My God!
My Jon Boat had a Go Navy bumper sticker on the Stern when I was a little boy!
I with the help of some friend's built my 1st building on an old Duck Blind. We even designed it so we could tie our boats up under the "Fort" as we called it and we built a ladder to climb through a hatch onto the platform where we constructed the building.
My mother used to keep a photo of our 1st building on the refrigerator!
She is my Hero!
I watched my father who I am at War with over the fact I was ADHD from birth and he was staunchly against my being educated and medicated to be my best by choosing a career to build buildings, run his Gasoline Business or become a Weatherman do all those things at once!
Yes he did all those at once but I needed to pick one of those Professions and attend The University of Alabama like I wanted too.
I even tried to get him interested in his Boat The Mermaid by going down to Dog River Marina and working on it the best that I could so he would repair a couple of damaged boards in her side and launch her before she Deteriorated!
I think it hurt he and my mother not having that Boat in the Water when all Hell had broken loose!

Propeller's -if at all possible bring in your old wheel as it has a number stamped on it that will help considerably in getting you the right propeller.
I will most likely ask you a few questions regarding the performance of your boat if that is one of your concerns and I will consult the Propeller Manufacturer when Necessary.
